Divan Pub opened in 1969 with the ‘pub’ concept being entirely novel at the time. Even though it was intended to be a spot for a quick bite before or after the movies, the pub morphed into the place to go to rather than just a place to drop by casually. Today, the décor of Divan Pub today may have been updated, but the classic items on the menu remain a favorite and hark back to a time when those very items were a true novelty in the city. Apart from the schnitzel, which was updated in the new menu with a thin layer of parmesan, other notable classics include Döner Kebab served with rice, Izgara Köfte (Grilled Turkish meatballs), and Yayla Kebabı (mixed grilled meat on top of thin pita bread sautéed in tomato sauce). Classic desserts include the Rokoko cake, profiterole, and much more.
