The third incarnation of Ilayda Art Gallery: the original Ankara location was expanded to Istanbul in 2002 by owner and curator’s daughter Ilayda Babacan. Since then, Babacan has transformed the space into a center of innovative exhibitions. Its particular emphasis is on process-apparent pieces, or art that reveals the method of its creation in its presentation. Committed to inventive use of materials and diverse media, exhibits include installations, wall-hung art, and digital displays. While it hosts international artists, Ilayda promotes up-and-coming Turkish artists in its own gallery as well as abroad.
