It has been run by the Turkish Ministry of Education since the establishment of the Republic, and has been coeducational since 1996. The school currently has over six hundred students, and more than five dozen teachers, of whom nearly a third are French. Since the school's 150th anniversary celebration in 2006, it has also functioned as an exhibition and concert venue.
