Bistro Chic and Bohemian: Mavi’s New Collection

Talya Arditi / September 14, 2012

Mavi Jeans introduced its new Fall/Winter 2012 Collection at the St.Antonie Apartments earlier this week with a small press party. The collection carries a very bohemian feel, inspired by 70s New York, with wide-legged pants, plaid shirts, tops with geometric prints, all very bohemian but also very feminine at the same time. Continuing with this year’s colorful pants trend, the Mavi design team has come up with colorful jeans and pants fit for the colder months, using slightly darker hues of red, green, and caramel. The collection’s vintage looking tops and skirts, made of viscose and velvet, carry a sexy flair. Aztec and graphic prints, polka dots, stripes, and plaid take the lead in turning Mavi outfits into wearable fun. Fur and leather have been used for signature items, some of which are faux for Mavi lovers who want to look the look without compromising their principles. Don’t forget to try on jeans from the Amerika Gold Series, made with a special kind of fabric that is intended to make you look one size smaller.

The men’s collection is a bit darker but cool and hip all the same. There is a wide range of pants and tops for men who want something casual but chic enough for a night out. Over dye items, slightly preppy oxford shirts, a variety of plaid shirts, outdoorsy sweaters, and Aztec-inspired prints create a comfortable and carefree look.
