The new Mertebe series (meaning to rise) is composed of items that take on the classic gold ‘selvi’ (cypress tree) design and place it among creations that are more modern in their intentions. Present among the motifs used in Iznik ceramics, the cypress tree represents immortality and infinity, as well as the after life in a religious context.
