Built around the core of works collected by Süleyman the Magnificent in the 16th century, this library was opened in 1927. Located within the medressas (educational buildings) of the Süleymaniye Mosque, the library features 74,000 manuscripts and books and has the richest reference collection on Ottoman history and culture in the world.
