Kase No. 16
Teşvikiye is home to a slew of hip restaurants and Kase No. 16 is no exception. This compact, charming spot is built around a bowl concept (hence the name, kase). Embellished with large and small, colorful bowls, the champagne colored wall catches your attention as soon as you enter from the glass door. The bar and the mirrored wall complement the sleek design. Although not visible at first, there are seats in the back of the space as well, so check before deciding the place is full.
Keeping with the concept, dishes on the menu are served in renditions of those ornate bowls you see on the wall. The short menu consist of twelve main bowls with ingredients like salmon, Swedish meatballs, and shrimp. An Indian delight and standout among others is the tikka masala, which comes with diced chicken seasoned with Indian spices over steamed rice.
There is also a rotating fruit bowl, soups, starters like burrata or mac and cheese, and juices. A single main bowl is pretty fulfilling and can easily satisfy lunchtime cravings. Pair the meal with a juice or a brew from Melez Tea -- or if you are in the mood, a glass of chardonnay would be a good fit.
As it is quite centrally located, this restaurant would be the perfect lunch hub. The restaurant is open until late in the evening, so you can come back for your favorite bowl for dinner as well. If you live in the neighborhood, they deliver.
