Open since 1945, Beyti is one of the oldest & most popular meat restaurants in Istanbul and was founded by Beyti Güler. In 1940 Beyti's father owned and ran a bakery and after the war years they started a small family restaurant which had just 16 seats. It is a cheering example of a family business which has grown a great deal financially and in size, but still holds true to its heritage and is proud of having started small.
The restaurant owes its reputation for great meat to the use of hand selected, prime choice cuts and the application of special marinating techniques. The meat is then cooked to perfection over a charcoal grill and served instantly. Beyti Güler and his sons, Cüneyt and Ahmet continue to run the restaurant without compromising their traditional style. Indeed Beyti personally selects all the meat himself and oversees all the preparation with special care. He credits the popularity of the restaurant and his food to years of respect, discipline and hard work. There is an extensive wine list and the service is excellent. Don't be surprised if Mr Beyti himself stops by your table to personally ensure that everything is fine. Be sure to book in advance in spring or summer to reserve the best seats on the terrace outside.
The modern and stylish 2-story venue has indoor and outdoor dining areas spread across 11 dining rooms of various sizes, plus the terrace. The interior decoration is inspired by Ottoman Turkish art and there is a collection of memorabilia from notable customers including many photos and gifts. It is extremely popular both for lunch and dinner, serving families, foodies, businessmen and celebrities alike. Located near the Marmaray coast and Atatürk airport in Florya, Beyti is well worth the journey away from the city center. You can make a day of it at the weekend or during Bayram and work up an appetite with a walk around the Florya Atatürk Ormanı or along the seaside. On cold and rainy days the Istanbul Aquarium is also nearby and a great way to spend the afternoon as a family.
