Şenay Şahin is a marketing executive-artist. In 2004 she started experimenting with different materials like wax. After training with reknowned artist Altay Özkaya, she started designing her own jewelry. She previously worked in the Grand Bazaar, but in 2011 she opened her shop in another historic center where the streets are just as crafty: Kumbaracı Yokuşu. And her boutique was recommended by the Louis Vitton Guide for Istanbul.
Her jewelry is made from brass wire dipped in gold coating, bronze, copper and hand-cut silver. She also uses semi-precious and natural stones. True to the name of her boutique, Şahin is inspired by nature, art history, aboriginal and shamanic arts to create earrings, necklasses, bracelets and more that are powerful, strong but stıll elegant and mysterious. Each piece is a work of handcrafted art.
