Frolicking rhythms and somber melodies go hand in hand when Gevende is playing. Formed in 2000 in the city of Eskişehir, Gevende released their first album Ev in 2006. After the release of this album, the band began collaborating with the nomadic Parisian Sound Painting Orchestra BALBAZAR. After the release of their second album Sen Balık Değilsin Ki (You're not a fish, you know) in 2010, Gevende took its place among the most important alternative music groups performing in Istanbul.

PS: You don’t have to know Turkish to enjoy the hybrid songs of Gevende, as they mostly use a made-up language!
