The black-and-white, stencil-and-airbrush-generated images of Tunca Subaşı in this exhibit entitled Kalıntı (Residue), at Pi Artworks Tophane, take photographs of 20th century revolutions and other political upheavals as their starting point. The finished product is a series of images that both preserve and obscure their own subject matter, suggesting that even the most important events are only as permanent as the technology (whether machines or human memories) used to record them.
