This collection of photographs from the private collection of Selçuk Erez at Maçka’s Galeri G-art is entitled Fotoğrafta Görünenler ve Görünmeyenler (The (In)visible in the Photograph). The show – curated by Lora Sarıaslan – features a diverse array of photographs from the early 20th to the early 21st century: birthday parties, weddings, school photos, and more. Much of the appeal of the show lies in the serendipitous nature of these anonymous photographs – discovered at second-hand bookshops – which, in Erez’s opinion, “surpass the work of professionals.”
