Mehmet Ali Uysal focuses his artistry on art galleries themselves. Rather than seeing them as clean slates that house artists’ works, Uysal incorporates the structure of the space into his art. His approach explores the idea that the sterility of an art space reinforces feelings of distance and separation between the artist and the viewer. The theory makes for a more inclusive experience. Uysal currently works as a research associate in the Department of Fine Arts and Music at the Middle Eastern Technical University in Ankara. His exhibitions have previously been displayed in France, Dubai, Beirut, and throughout Turkey. The exhibition runs from September 26 until December 8.
